Colony In Space Part 4

When the Doctor and Jo arrive on a newly colonized planet, they find themselves caught in a conflict between the colonists, a mining corporation, and the mysterious Primitives, only to discover that the power-hungry Master is manipulating events for his own sinister ends.

The Doctor and Jo arrive on a human colony planet, Uxarius, to find tensions high between the colonists and the Interplanetary Mining Corporation (IMC), who are exploiting the planet's mineral resources. The colonists, led by Robert Ashe, accuse the IMC of using violence and scare tactics, including fake monsters, to force them off the planet. The IMC, led by Captain Dent, denies these charges and claims the colonists are hindering their operations.

An Adjudicator arrives to settle the dispute, but it is soon revealed that he is actually the Master in disguise. The Master manipulates the situation to favor the IMC, as Earth needs the planet's duralinium. Meanwhile, Jo is captured by the Primitives, a native species, and taken to their city, where the Doctor follows to rescue her. They discover that the Primitives are the descendants of an advanced civilization that suffered a cataclysm, and that a remnant of that civilization still exists, ruling over the Primitives.

The Doctor and Jo are nearly sacrificed by the Primitives but are spared by the advanced alien who rules them. They return to the colony to find that the Master has ruled in favor of the IMC. The colonists, led by Winton, plan a violent attack on the IMC to drive them off the planet, but Ashe opposes this, wanting to pursue legal means of appeal.

Winton impersonates the Master to lure the IMC officers into a trap. However, Norton, a colonist secretly working for the IMC, betrays the plan. A firefight ensues, leading to more bloodshed. The Doctor, aware of the Master's deception, tries to expose him, but the Master uses bureaucratic loopholes to discredit the Doctor.

Ashe, desperate, seeks help from the Master, unaware of his true nature. The Master, feigning interest in the planet's historical significance, questions Ashe about the ruined Primitive city. The story culminates in a showdown where the Doctor must thwart the Master's plans, prevent further violence between the colonists and the IMC, and protect the secrets of the Primitives' ancient city.

Act 3

This act intensifies the conflict on Uxarius, focusing on the Doctor's perilous journey to rescue Jo and the Master's calculated manipulation of the colony's fate. Jo, abducted by the Primitives, is taken deep into their ancient, technologically advanced city, prompting the Doctor to follow despite Ashe's warnings. Within the city, the Doctor and Jo uncover evidence of a once-great civilization that suffered a cataclysm, and they confront the Guardian, a highly intelligent, reclusive alien ruler. Through a display of intellect and a plea for justice, the Doctor secures their release, receiving a stern warning against returning. Upon their return to the human settlement, the Master, disguised as the Adjudicator, swiftly consolidates his power. He dismisses the Doctor's attempts to expose him through bureaucratic means, then delivers a decisive ruling in favor of the Interplanetary Mining Corporation, ordering the colonists to abandon their homes. This verdict shatters the colonists' hopes, driving a wedge between Robert Ashe, who advocates for a legal appeal, and David Winton, who, fueled by desperation, resolves to launch a violent attack to reclaim their planet and declare independence from Earth. Winton orchestrates an elaborate ambush, impersonating the Adjudicator to lure IMC officers into a trap. Unbeknownst to Winton, Norton, a colonist secretly allied with the IMC, betrays the plan. The act climaxes in a brutal confrontation as Alec Leeson discovers Norton's treachery, leading to Alec's death and the outbreak of a chaotic firefight between the armed colonists and IMC security forces, plunging the colony into open warfare and setting the stage for the story's ultimate resolution.
