Compression Battery

A rectangular metallic block with two exposed terminals, mounted on the Varos control console during the Governor's humiliation. Its purpose appears to be energy regulation rather than primary power: when the Governor's plan collapses, the battery overheats visibly, sparking between the terminals as the Vote machine's green light strikes it. The device's failure accelerates the base's systems destabilization, though it continues supplying intermittent current through the attack.
