Logopolis Abacuses

Rows of polished wooden abacuses, their beads clicking in rhythmic succession as Logopolitans manipulate them in unison. Each device measures roughly 30 centimeters in length, small enough for steady hand operation but large enough to require both palms. The frames are dark-stained hardwood, worn smooth by centuries of use, while the beads range from light bone to dark stone, their colors contrasting sharply against the aged surfaces. The abacuses serve as the primary computational tool in the Central Registry, bent nearly double under the strain of block transfer mathematics as their users' minds become extensions of the calculating process itself.
