Holodeck Three Entrance Control Panel (Holodeck COM Panel)
A recessed, dense wall-mounted holodeck control unit immediately outside Holodeck Three that functions both as the local COM/status display and as the primary manual control/arming interface. Physical features include a narrow alloy bezel, grainy monochrome status/readout windows, banks of tactile switches and touch-keys, stacked diagnostic LEDs, visible ribboned wiring under smoked polycarbonate, a thumbwheel and fingertip-sized buttons at hip height, an embedded speaker, and cosmetic wear (thumb-smudges, scorch-dark smudges, minor impact scuffs). Narratively, Geordi uses this panel to lock parameters, queue restricted schematics, arm holodeck projections and time program sequences; in other scenes, a holographic contact with the panel triggers simulated converters/pulses. The unit appears across multiple Holodeck Three scenes and serves as both technical interface and demonstrative prop.
