Emergency strips of dim red light bleed from cracked edge lighting, casting jagged shadows across Stotz’s furious pacing where he repeatedly smashes his fist against the sealed bridge entry. Beyond the viewport’s reinforced frame, the planet’s ashen surface streaks past in sickly illumination, its toxic dust clinging to every crevice. The air carries the acrid tang of scorched hydraulics and sweat—Stotz’s breath ragged, Peri’s muffled protests audible through the thin hull as hope of escape collapses into violence.
