Old Refinery Chamber

A crumbling industrial space carved into the rock beside Cave 26, its rusted blast doors standing ajar like broken teeth. The chamber is a hollow relic of past excavations, its walls streaked with mineral deposits that glow faintly under salvaged strip lights. The floor is littered with collapsed metal grating and the skeletal remains of pipes that once ferried refined ore through the tunnels. A stagnant pool of brackish water reflects the flickering illumination, its surface disturbed only by the troop’s boots as they move through. The air is thick with the scent of damp stone and corroded iron, undercut by the acrid tang of leaked lubricants from long-abandoned machinery. It serves as a liminal space—neither fully part of the cave system nor entirely external—where Chellak’s soldiers pause, their voices muted by the cavernous scale of the ruin.
