Sector Sixteen

A deep-space sector beyond immediate stellar cartography, its coordinates defined only by the origin of an encrypted signal. The void stretches emptily around the TARDIS as it breaks free from conventional time, stars dimming to streaks of white against the black. There are no markers—no beacons, no satellites, no derelicts to guide approach—only the cold hum of engines and the flicker of the TARDIS console lighting Tegan’s sharp profile as she checks navigation systems. The space feels infinite yet focused, the ship suspended in a silence broken only by the Doctor’s murmured corrections and the occasional crackle of the scanner. The absence of reference points makes every direction equally alien, every jump a leap into unknown cold.
