Childhood Bedroom (Family Home)
Joanie Lyman's Bedroom
A small childhood bedroom that holds the echo of a single melody — Schubert's 'Ave Maria' — played and replayed until the tune becomes a talisman and a wound. Sunlight and domestic hush gather around familiar objects; the music threads through linens, toys, and the hollow spaces of memory. The room functions as a mnemonic crucible: private and intimate, it yanks shame and grief into the present, snapping Josh back to a house fire and the sister he lost. As a narrative locus it converts a domestic interior into the catalyst for admission, trauma, and irreversible moral reckoning.
