Map Room (Tanis)

Secured, cramped chamber within the ancient ruins of Tanis, lined with carved frescoes and filled with maps and documents that reveal the precise location of the Well of the Souls. A skylight channels a precise dawn beam across a meticulous miniature of Tanis, illuminating a mosaic line and slots for the Staff of Ra headpiece. Sallah previously slipped inside to seize critical intelligence; later Indiana Jones drops into the chamber, aligns the correct staff, sabotages Belloq's shortened staff by melting lead into the headpiece slot, hides the medallion, and climbs out the skylight as Nazi guards close in.
