Low light skims over threadbare upholstery and a small coffee table strewn with youthful tokens; a wall-mounted viewer dominates the space, suddenly filling the room with Picard’s stern, procedural face. The air tastes of stifled breath and impatient hope as Salia shifts between private plans and imposed oversight. A companion—at once childlike and authoritarian—can transmute here, collapsing Salia’s fragile autonomy into enforced custody. The room functions as both sanctuary and cage, where personal desire collides with institutional control and the viewscreen turns private life into command theater.
