Old Stone Terrace

A weathered stone terrace clings to the upper edge of Plant Lab grounds, its worn slabs uneven underfoot and pitted with moss where moisture gathers. Crude fortifications—stone barricades and jury-rigged sandbags—hug the lip of the terrace, evidence of Beresford’s unit hastily turning the exposed perch into an observation post. The terrace overlooks the Krynoid’s spreading domain: riotous vines creep across the clearing below, their rustling canopy punctuated by the hum of distant military equipment. The air smells of crushed foliage and cordite, thick with tension as Beresford and his men brace for an assault they can’t yet launch.
