Well of Souls Entry Aperture

Jagged aperture in the ancient tomb roof forming the sole access to the Well of Souls: a 30-foot plunge into a vast underground chamber alive with thousands of asps. Indy and Sallah lean over the breach as torches and oil are lowered (and Indy swings on a rope), the light revealing hieroglyph-lined walls, supporting pillars, a central altar left clear of snakes, and a tall stone pillar that grazes the cavern ceiling. Dust-choked air, flickering flames, and the heat and hissing of the serpent-infested pit characterize the entry; Sallah manages equipment and crates through the narrow opening while the torch-lined descent becomes the team's planned approach.
