River Approach Track

A narrow woodland path winds through dense undergrowth, pressed earth soft beneath scooter wheels as figures emerge from the trees. The air carries the damp green scent of wet vegetation and crushed foliage, the chatter of unseen birds punctuated by the distant rush of the river ahead. Sunlight filters unevenly through the canopy, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow that make the uneven ground harder to navigate. The path feels transient, more animal trail than human route, yet clearly used—packed earth and the occasional discarded wrapper marking recent passage. It leads directly to the open shingle bank where Delta waits, the riverbank now visible through the trees, its sound growing louder with each step.
