The Pacific Ocean sprawls below the Pan Am Clipper during its westward flight. Sunlit waves roll endlessly under daytime skies, then yield to shadowed swells and starry darkness as night falls. Clouds intermittently veil the surface. Indiana Jones crosses this vast expanse, which collapses days of travel into seconds, shifts geography from one continent to another, and builds tension toward the Nazi pursuit.
