Control Room Upper Levels

Above the main control room floor, the Upper Levels form a narrow gantry of flickering consoles and emergency lighting. The air smells of ozone and scorched metal from failing systems, thickened by the rising tide of liquid ice seeping through compromised bulkheads below. Narrow stairwells and catwalks connect to secondary control panels bolted to the walls, each one reserved for emergency overrides or isolated system commands. The space is cramped, forcing movement in single file as alarms wail through the corridors in bursts, echoing off metal grates. Emergency lighting casts long shadows that stretch toward the failing ceiling, where pipes vent scalding steam in rhythmic pulses. From this vantage, operators once monitored planetary scopes or weapon systems—now they watch their own annihilation unfold below, their breath fogging in the unheated air.
