Desert Valley

A sprawling arid valley carved by wind and time, featuring narrow box canyons, looming cliffs, jagged rock formations, and a concrete drainage culvert (half-buried in sand, holding shallow gritty water and loose stones). The valley funnels Donovan's Nazi convoy past these cliffs, where Indy, Henry, and Sallah huddle behind the rock formations for cover during brutal firefights. The culvert appears in a later scene where Indy uses it as a tactical pause to arm himself against pursuers. Flat expanses stretch beyond, exposed and merciless, hosting gunfire, grenade blasts, and dust plumes, while the valley also serves as the setting for Indy’s desperate tank chase.
