Picard's Covert Devidian Detection Device (Neural-Energy Variant)
A compact, covert technological device designed to detect Devidian aliens through triolic waves and neural-energy signatures. Planted by Captain Picard (disguised as a workman) inside a 19th-century gas lamp in the infirmary, it emits a blinking red light upon detection, serving as a prearranged distress signal to alert the away team (particularly Beverly Crusher). Geordi La Forge also fine-tunes a portable neural-energy detection device in the Victorian boarding house, which functions as a complementary tool for pinpointing Devidian lairs. Both devices are critical to the team's strategy during the chaotic confrontation with the Devidians, as their covert nature must remain undetected by the aliens. The gas lamp device is tied to the away team's prearranged signal system, while the portable device aids in locating the Devidians' lair.
