Object
Stone of Gol
Legendary Vulcan artifact known as the Stone of Gol, a psionic resonator capable of lethal psychic energy projection. Described as a device that can kill with a single thought when fully assembled. Features a symbolic arrangement of peace between war and death, and emits a dissonant psychic distortion when activated. The artifact exists in two primary states: (1) Assembled Form: A complete psionic resonator capable of lethal psychic energy projection, targeted by extremists to assassinate the Vulcan Council; (2) Disassembled Form (Stolen Pieces): Fragments pilfered from archaeological sites across the quadrant, collected by mercenaries to rebuild the resonator. T'Paal exposes these pieces in a cargo hold, forcing Picard to intervene. The assembled Stone's effects can be neutralized by embracing peace, as demonstrated when Tallera activates it in a cavern, amplifying violent impulses. Picard and Starfleet teams encounter it in multiple contexts, including aboard mercenary ships and in a cavern, where its potential to trigger interstellar war is a recurring threat.
